Pastor Trevor (Retired) | Grace Baptist Church Alliston

Screen Shot 2015-10-30 at 11.41.49 AMI grew up in a godly home where the influence of my grandfather was evident because I knew the stories of the Bible well.  However, after Sharon and I were married, we lived in Port Perry and were told that to be Christians we had to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.  This was a new concept for both of us.  From there we moved to Cambridge and were invited to attend Temple Baptist Church.  One evening the pastor came to our home and became very concerned about our spiritual condition.  He made me aware that my knowledge of the content of the Bible was not adequate for salvation.  Shortly thereafter I responded to a gospel invitation to acknowledge my faith in Christ as Lord and Savior.  Shortly thereafter Sharon and I were baptized together and became members of Temple Baptist Church.   I am so thankful someone visited our home.

Dr. Kerr often invited international mission leaders speak to the congregation.  One Sunday Dr. C. Raymond Buck, president of Baptist Mid-Missions, was preaching.  At the end of the message he began an invitation. In the midst of his invitation, he announced that there was a young man in the congregation that needed to give his life for full time service to the Lord. At that moment, by the powerful ministry of the Holy Spirit, I knew that the invitation was for me.

My ministry efforts since then have been in Christian education, as a teacher and administrator. In the various churches, I have held the office of deacon or elder.
